To all members of the Got Wind and Water group-
I have run into a snag as I'm organizing the Winter Sailstice. Meetup is great, you can put as much (or as little) on your profile. You can block emails, you can control how much or how little you get.
But here is the problem.
If you RSVP for a Got Wind and Water event, the organizer of that event MUST be able to get a hold of you. The GOTWAW email system through meetup.com is not cutting it. Too many members of the group are not responding to their emails through this system.
The
Winter Sailstice is the biggest event we've put up on the calender yet. We've got multiple boats going, and they are leaving from multiple locations. Most of them are full. There are a few people who have RSVP'd yes or maybe on the main event but have not RSVP's on any of the boats.
To participate, you have to RSVP on one of the same day events (boats) AND change your 'main event' RSVP to 'No', with a comment saying which boat you are sailing on.
YOU ALSO need to get your contact information to me. This includes your full name, email address AND cell phone number.
Your contact information will be stored on my smart phone and will not go out to anyone else without your permission. If you have RSVP'd yes for an event, then you've given me your permission to share your contact information with the assistant organizer of that event.
ALL REPLIES to this email will go to me, not the gotwaw list server (I have my fingers crossed I'll be able to handle the reply volume).
