My normal sailing plans for Sunday fell through, and I'd rather bring some people on board than single-hand this time.
I intend to sail out the Gate toward Pt Reyes, but I'm flexible depending on crew preferences. Coastal winds are expected to be in the 10-20 knot range with under 10' of swell, which is rather mild ...
“ It was my first experience out beyond the Golden Gate. So it was very exciting to get a taste of the vast rolling ocean, and see porpoises in the water next to us. It was also my first bout with seasickness, which luckily did not dampen the day for long. Peter is a highly capable skipper, who also allows his crew to learn while they sail, which is much appreciated. After going west until open ocean, we returned through the gate. We then sailed south for a bit, getting a closeup view of the Alameda warships. On the way back to Emeryville, we had an absolutely spectacular view of the new portion of the Bay Bridge as we sailed under it. In all, a very exciting day! ”
