We will be sailing ECHO, a 38' Farallone Clipper sloop, in Races 4 & 5 of the Encinal Yacht Club 'Jack Frost 2009/2010' Midwinter Series races. See http://www.encinal.or... for more info.

4-6 experienced sailors are needed for each race, foredeck experience (setting the spinnaker etc.) is a plus.

If you are qualified and would like to participate, email me or sign up on the waiting list.

Remaining 2010 Race Dates: February 27th, March 27th

Thanks,

Jack

My first race in the Bay, the weather and wind were better than had been forecast so it turned out to be a great day for a race. Unfortunately we had spinnaker trouble during the first race and did not finish, we then were too late to start the race day. We then sailed to the Golden Gate Bridge..... and our race woe's were soon forgotten. Great day with great friendly people. Also have to mention Echo, our wooden sloop.... this is a beautiful wooden sloop and everyone admires her... rightly so you are practically sailing an antique in the Bay.... if I were to boil down this ramble into one word - Awesome!

"All's well that ends well". Sailing in nice conditions with a great crew was tempered by a close encounter with an S-22, a minor bruise, and a 'gift wrapped' forestay that ended our racing efforts early.
