I'm racing in this Regatta, are you?

Please RSVP YES if you are, and in your comment, state which boat (Boat Type, Name).

Throughout 2010, we are going to keep track of which members are racing on which boats in which regattas. It's our way of spreading the word about the people that are members of the Got Wind and Water Sailing Network, who are active in the sport of Yacht Racing on San Francisco Bay.

If you are NOT racing, but want too, RSVP 'Maybe' and state in the comments what you would like to race on. Make sure that your Got Wind and Water profile is filled out.

We will use these RSVP's to help you connect with the Owners and Crew Captains of Race boats.

Most often, these people are looking for specific types of people with specific skills. We want them to use Got Wind and Water to find the people they are looking for.

We will also use these Race Events to put in post race comments and photo albums. We want the sailing community to know that we are networking active sailors of all levels and positions, including those that race.

We had fun on Ay Caliente! Did the "sail off the anchor" on Sat. and caught great breeze on Sunday. A big Thank You to Capt. Bradley and Andrew for crewing...good times...and hope to see you on water again soon! Aaron

I was on Kuai, Aaron on Ay Caliente!, and Bruce on Jennette. I misplaced my camera last week, so no pictures or videos :( - It was typical winter sailing, that is to say, what ever Mother Nature felt like. On Kaui, we sailed in division D. The start was off of Knox Pt. and the course was East through Raccoon Straights, across the North/South Shipping lane and then a loop upwind to the North, followed by a downwind leg to the south. One final upwind leg back to the middle of the loop and a very interesting leg back to the finish line off of Corinthian Yacht Club. Very challenging with light winds and strong currents. I'll post the GPS track. A tactical goof on the first leg put us in the middle of the fleet. On the last leg, the wind was light, and the current stronger. We failed to make it to the North side of Raccoon Straights and the strong ebb current swept us past the finish line. We deployed the anchor, but it was too late. We missed the finish by 25 yards.
