Who organized?
Bruce Bambrick and John Cabrall

A last minute trip that I came up with after reading John's posting!

I will be getting underway from the Berkeley Marina at 10:00 PM. We will go out past the north end of Treasure Island and find a place to watch the fireworks show(s). Most likely we will just motor over and back. Should be a great view. Return to the dock about 1:30 AM.

Meet 10:00 at the H-dock gate.

This is planned to be an easy-going cruise, with a toast at midnight of course. Other than that I would like to not have too much drinking under way tonight. It will be dark of course, and a lot of cruise boat and other traffic on the bay. In short just a fun cruise to see the fireworks.

The boat is a 1992 Bruce Roberts 44 ft Cutter.

I can take 6 people with me.

Some things to bring:
Warm clothes! (hat, gloves, rain coat, etc)
Snacks to share
Warm beverage
Warm non-marking boat shoes or boots

No charge for this event. Happy New Year!

This (Got Wind and Water) has been a spectacular success. I'm very grateful for all the great Assistant Organizers who have contributed their time and energy to this group. A special thanks goes out from me to the 'Usual Suspects' - who could have imagined that such a group would form in such a short time?

Great all around. Great people, great view, great treats. And, I got a turn at the helm so I guess I'm no longer cargo.

Oh, man. It was great. Great boat, great company. And there is never anything better than front row seats on the bay for the fireworks.

We have Video! Spectacular Fireworks - with lots of layers it wasn't too cold. Stacy and Tom brought champagne and brownies - double sweet. Bruce is a fantastic Skipper, Loki, a marvelous sailing vessel. The skies cleared, the Blue Moon was bright. Peter on Sabina positioned themselves just to the east of us and captured it all on video (see lower right corner of home page). Loki appears in silhouette in the lower left corner of the video from time to time. The comment heard over and over was you haven't seen fireworks until you've seen them from 1000 ft away on the water.
