I'm on my winter break from grad school, so I'm trying to spend as much time on the water as I possibly can.

Saturday the 5th is expected to be mostly sunny with light winds so it's perfect weather for flying the gennaker. Plus, I haven't been on the water in 2 weeks so it's time!!!

So if you'd rather spend some time on the water than the mall, come along. As always, sailing with me is free.

It was a fun outing in varying sea conditions. We had good wind until about noon when we hit the dolldrums near the city front and we had to motor out of the Golden Gate. The moment we did that we got into a different weather pattern and were able to sail and have some fun. We barely beat the ebb tide on our way back into the Gate and we had to motor from Ft. Baker all the way to Emeryville. Debra was at the wheel most of the time, with me frantically running back and forth from the bow. It's a lot of work trying to fly a gennaker double handed :P

This was my first experience as an active participant on a sailboat. Paul was a very gracious captain and introduced me to many terms and maneuvers of sailing. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and can't wait to get out there again! Thank you Paul!
