A cruising sail from Spinnaker Sailing in Redwood City to Coyote Point marina just north of the San Mateo Bridge and back. This sail has to be scheduled based on the tides and it works for this date. I’ve done this sail a few times and Coyote Point makes a nice destination sail. As we're approaching the end of the season, the winds may be light so we'll have to see what happens.

We're taking a Merit 25 which is a lightweight racing boat. If the winds are light then the Merit will be work well; if the winds are strong then we'll have lots of fun and get wet!

We’ll meet at 10am, check out the yacht and then motor out of the channel. The sail to Coyote Point is a good beat to windward under the San Mateo Bridge and we normally arrive around 2-3pm. It’s a sheltered marina and a nice place for a leisurely late lunch in the sun. Afterwards we have a great run downwind back to Redwood City arriving around 5-6pm. This will be a good sail for novices.

Bring typical sailing gear (lifejackets are provided if you don’t have one), fleece, waterproof / windproof jacket and pants (pants are optional but a good idea if you have them), lunch (there’s no place to buy it at Coyote Point), snacks and drinks. Also, as this is a small yacht there isn’t a head on board though there is a restroom at Coyote Point – just forewarning people!

This is a FREE sail as I’m a member of Spinnaker Sailing.

I’ll send my cell number to those that RSVP.

Great day back out on the water. Light winds in the morning and early afternoon meant we couldn't reach Coyote Point. The wind picked up mid-afternoon and we had some exciting sailing.
